Two bills filed in either house of the South Carolina legislature earlier this week are designed to educate students across The Palmetto State about the Second Amendment, gun safety, and gun marksmanship.
The House bill was filed by Republican state Rep. Alan Clemmons. It is co-sponsored by fellow Republican state Reps. Garry Smith and Richard Yow. If passed, the bill would create a “Second Amendment Awareness Day” on December 15 in all schools across South Carolina, coupled with three weeks of education on gun rights.
The curriculum would be chosen by the state Department of Education. It would be approved or recommended by the National Rifle Association (NRA),The Greenville News reported.
